endplate bearing

Hey... how much play should there be with the xmas tree shaft that comes through the endplate bearing , it seems to move a fair bit ,in and out and side to side ...is this normal ...

no; best change the bearing; only cheep an worth doin; if y got a vice y can press old'n out and new'n in,

As muppet says new bearings makes sense, a few quid and very easy to change. Also if your feeling play in and out that will disappear when you tighten up the nut in the clutch bell which pulls the tree up against the endplate.
