When I stripped down my Tv tonight I noticed that there's an uneven gap between the chrome ring and the handlebars:

Since the chrome ring looks ok I'm wondering what causes this? Could it be the clamp...?

Thankful for any feedback - cheers V

So a new clamp will sort it?

The crome ring itself looks 100% straight, and the headset I doubt would get bend, would probably rather crack since it's moulded alu...

paint under the headset where clamp meets ? repaired headset? turn the handlebars to full lock, you will see if the headset is not true, if its not true try another set, I cant see it being the clamp, but you never know

The gap looks larger at the front . Turn the headset to the left and the right , if the gap is still at the front the problem is the chrome ring. If the gap moves with the headset, then the problem is with the headset .

Did that, it moves with the headset. The ring seems to be 100% 90° against the stem...

Can the clamp cause this or is the headset to be replaced...?

Take the head set off and unbolt the clamp . It may become obvious what the problem is . The clamp should be parallel to the chrome ring.
