TV2 strip, sort and rebuild

Bought this TV2 two years ago, on the face of it it looked ok but the paint and some of the bodywork let it down (holes in footboards for side trim, fromnt mudguard full of filler etc). So decided to put it to one side until I could be arsed to do something with it. I mainly like restored and standard scooter and decided to just restore it to keep it in line and matching the majority of my other scooters!

A few pics of the strip down and will continue with the rebuild.



















































So now its ready for repairs, paint and a few replacement parts!

Don't replace the bit in the second to last photo.

Seriously through, you though it was a bit rough! (the scooter that is). If mine looked that good after a restore I'd be quite pleased. What colors are you going for?

If that was my bit on the second to last phot I definitely wouldn't replace it, and I'd definitely make good use of it!

Just going standard Azzuro Tirreno 8042 on the colour! Had considered a green colour but now discounted it! Paint etc was poo on this so ill hope to make a better job restoring it this time!!!

Ive always liked the tv series 2, not owned one yet ,,its an expensive way of doing it buying a finished one and starting fresh,, but at least you know what you have when you do it yourself, that polishing looks good , was the headset an li one ? will you put it back to points ,, keep the pics coming a proper restoration is nice to see and harder to achieve than a lot appreciate , mind you i like any scoot thats well finished..

Yes that's basically it! I bought it as a good complete base to start with so its relatively easy to restore this one. But as with any scooter I've ever bought there are things that are wrong with it like the bodged LI headset you mentioned. I've bought a NOS TV headset so it right!

I'll probably leave the 12 v electronic ignition for reliability. The engine has apparently only done 50 miles since it was rebuilt but I'll take a look on the inside to reassure myself its ok! Replace owt that looks dodgy!

Almost same set of photos from else where,or so I thought
Those shoes would leave nasty marks in the wood.
Oh side tracked for moment there.
Only till looking closer does one see why you have taken apart to re do or more like finish off !
Look forward to the next set of photos ,what ever they may contain....
Somewhere I think its on the lid of my tool box top chest I have a similar flow chart,a boss at one garage I worked at liked it so much he photo copied it and had every mechanic issued with one

Duncan, those photos aren't allowed on the other side ( and I've been asked not to post them! fair enough it doesn't comply with the rules) as they're not scooter related. Personally I like to add a little something in to spice up what could be a boring thread!

Don't know if there are rules governing photos like that over here?
