Hi all, I'm having an RB250 engine built and have been given the option of a Cyclone box. Having never ridden a scoot with one fitted are they that good and worth the money? I'm seriously thinking of going for one but I'd like a bit of feedback before I commit to one. Any comments good or bad welcome thanks Pete.

The thing is if I get one will I feel the benefit of it? I was thinking go with the 4 speed for now then at a later date switch to the Cyclone to gauge the difference. But do I want the hassle of stripping out old and fitting the Cyclone? Decisions decisions...

Depends on the degree of tuning on your RB. My racer is a 250 RB and the performance in and out of the 'band' is, to say the least, dramatic (thank you Dan). The Cyclone will make it easier for you to stay in said band whatver the degree of tuning.10 inch Terror wrote:The thing is if I get one will I feel the benefit of it? If you have the cash do it - you can't take it with you.....
Did you have to do that?

I've been told it will turn out 26BHP at the rear wheel with no tuning. I'm happy with that, would a the Cyclone be OTT with that kind of power? Cheers Pete.DigDug wrote:Depends on the degree of tuning on your RB. My racer is a 250 RB and the performance in and out of the 'band' is, to say the least, dramatic (thank you Dan). Don't think it's to do with the power, it's more to do with keeping it 'on the pipe' and using what you've got... If you have the spare cash, I'd say go for it
