Been given a 200cc cast cylinder and head off a mate with brand new piston which is stamped 66.6mm and is a three ring piston, but it's too slack in bore so need a 66.8 (He never said the piston came with the cylinder, just a generous gift). Which make of piston and who from please?

Secondly, how do you tell a Stage 4 from looking at the cylinder? I've opened up the transfers nicely, but have no idea from looking at it whether it's a Stage 4. Is there something about the inlet port or the timings and if so, waht are the measurements from the top of the cylinder to the transfers/inlet/exhaust ports. Would posting a photo of the cylinder help?

I Thank you

Problem is I don't think there is any specific description of a "Stage 4"- it tends to be a phrase bandied about in pubs and at meets IMO.

One mans "Stage 4" is another mans "Stage 3" or even a "Stage 6"

Sorry- may be someone with more knowledge about later

use Mahle from Scooter Restorations running 3 thou clearance on a number of rebuilds- no problems at all.
