Its not piston and barrel porting but when you open scooterotica homepage there's a good picture of a nice T5 barrel with opened up transfers . The picture flashes up on the screen with many other examples of fettling work and only stays on the screen for seconds but if you could find that picture on the site it would be a good start I'd say .

Many years ago (22), I machined a millimetre off the top of the barrel, and put a 1mm spacer under the barrel. This increased the transfer timing and the exhaust port timing.

It made no difference what so ever.

Well, you asked.

I have done a few but fitted to my smallframe motors. If you look at my 90ss thread in "show us scoots" one barrel is there. The T5 barrel is the best barrel Vespa ever produced by far. It does have potential but it does need a decent pipe to make the ports efficient if you start opening things up. You really need to look at bespoke pipes and this gets expensive.

been chatting to my mate who does smallframe sprinting etc and he reckons he can get a lot more out of it by also porting the cases, whilst replacing all bearings and seals etc has anyone done this before or would i be the first person to have done this or has it been done before but with no significant difference made to performance.
