Hi Ian

Steve's got one on his P2, and although it's ok ( 15 BHP on our dyno ) it could be better. problem he's got is it's designed for a 57mm crank and he's got a 60mm so all the port timings are out even with a packer, still done a couple of thousand miles on it so far with a SIP road exh and over winter either get the crank swapped or re port is in order.

Maybe wrong, but i thought that the both the iron and the ally polini kits had the same layout ports wise. Alan at Diablo is building me a 225 to go in the Mongspeed Roadster using the ally kit. It is interesting to note though that the links suggest that the best pipe for the set up might be the Sip Road/ sito + type pipe. Just my fecking luck as I bought a Vintage 226 to go with it.

I have been thrashing my alupolini for the whole summer without any problems.
Im running it with a 60mm crank. This required fitting a malossi piston. If using the std piston the packer would need to go under the barrel lifting the transfertiming in the 130 region, this isnt ideal for the touring motor I was after.
Std piston is no good cause of the upper piston ring protruding the bore at tdc.

heres a thread on the build

I'm running an alloy polini with long stroke, 221cc, 0.5 base packer and 1mm head with si26 carb, 130 main be3 160ac 60/160 idle and a sip road. circa 15bhp and 14lb 18degree ign. lovely motor to ride. not quite as torquey as the cast kit i had on,but sits all day at 60/65 real with plenty left for overtaking, and, here's the best bit, close on 70mpg. I'd recommend it for touring over a malossi set up every time.
