I need an engine for my 152L2 and i want a bit of advice on wether to bother with a pricey P200 engine or will a PX125 unit do, with a kit on it? I want 50-60 MPG if poss and 70MPH on the motorway........My scooter only has an 8 litre tank, and i would rather not plan my journeys around petrol stations......

Bog standard p2 with a sip road pipe would get my vote, never going to set any land speed records but will purr along beautifully at a genuine 60mph and top out at 70mph. I run an old style mk1 spanish p2 and can hold this flat out all day and still return 50mpg. :)

i bought a brand new lml in 2002, drum brake, thrashed it for 7 years, rain, shine or snow, never had a problem.
it was quicker than p200's of the time and after,

mind you the casings were stamped piaggio :wtf:

Standard P2 all the way, the ultimate stress-free mile muncher, can go flat out for as long as you want. A Px125 wouldn`t pull the snotters out of your nose and you`ll die of boredom before it needs filled up.T5`s are ok but revvy wee fekkers.

I've got a PX125 with the DR kit now 177, on the Diablo dyno it makes 11bhp.
It has a sito + and standard carb and I get 70+ mpg, it will sit all day at 65/70 and its a great engine.
But I'm changing it for a 220 polini that Al (Diablo) says will make 19bhp, more cc more bhp makes for an easier ride
TS1 and PX stay in the garage (future barn finds) out on the GTS 300 when I go out on a scooter.
I know I’ll get there and back
