is anybody else experiencing engine mounts getting so hot you can't touch them,
this is after running for half an hour, motor is rb 225.
any advice appreciated.
red hot engine mounts.
Mine dissintergrated on the way back from a rally some years back in Italy ....If you wet your finger and touched the engine mounts it hissed like a hot iron.....I'm not kidding when we stopped to fuel up, vapour came out of the petrol tank... the scooter really was that hot.... This was on a TS1 being ridden fairly quickly, Keeping up with a 172 kitted Runner for about 300+ miles a day....snowytv wrote:is anybody else experiencing engine mounts getting so hot you can't touch them,

I do not try to explain why I ride Lambrettas,
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary,
For those who don't, no explantion is possible.

did snowy get an answer ?
I wonder if a press on heat sink, over the engine mount would dissapate the heat build up better than nothing..... not fancy or expensive, just a press on piece of alloy machined with fins on the outside...??

If they test well, then I'm thinking of doing a small production run.
