red hot engine mounts.

is anybody else experiencing engine mounts getting so hot you can't touch them,
this is after running for half an hour, motor is rb 225.
any advice appreciated.

Mine dissintergrated on the way back from a rally some years back in Italy ....If you wet your finger and touched the engine mounts it hissed like a hot iron.....I'm not kidding when we stopped to fuel up, vapour came out of the petrol tank... the scooter really was that hot.... This was on a TS1 being ridden fairly quickly, Keeping up with a 172 kitted Runner for about 300+ miles a day....

Yes Red, they are.. with a hardness of 60 they should work quite well..I hope...Just need the motivation to pull the engine out to change mounts..again :evil:

I wonder if a press on heat sink, over the engine mount would dissapate the heat build up better than nothing..... not fancy or expensive, just a press on piece of alloy machined with fins on the outside...?? :?:

If they test well, then I'm thinking of doing a small production run.
