I hope someone can help!!!
I recently re built my Cosa clutch but it was dragging like a bugger so I got hold of one of the SIP spacers which I've now fittet but it's still dragging.
Any suggestions?
It has been suggested that the cush drive could be knackered but would this cause the clutch to drag?
any help appreciated

Many of the after market billet clutch units are prone to dragging. Generally the centre bush wears with the thrust shim & it causes release problems.
If need be assemble the clutch unit without the springs installed, this allows you to check what release depth you have available & it turns freely, also check that the steel plates are installed in the correct order & they are not warped!
The outer basket can have wear marks from the clutch plates hammering the edges & these burr up.
Next check the bronze pressure pad in the clutch cover as this gets worn if the clutch cable is set too tight.
Then if there is excessive side to side movement in the driveside main bearing, this also takes up some of the cable's movement!
If the cush drive has a rattle then maybe a few of the cush springs may be broken, this has no effect on the release problem.
Next check that you are using the correct later model flanged locking nut to hold the clutch unit onto the crankshaft.
Next is to check that the pressure release plate can move inwards enough to free up the plates without fouling the clutch retaining nut?
