Does that BGM ac and dc regulator really make things that simple? If I were to replace my standard regulator with this, would all I have to do to get a cigarette lighter socket for charging a phone/sat nav is to wire it up along with a battery?

I use a 3.5 amp alarm battery in-line. I run scoot as normal (rallies) then charge fone when needed.

I wouldn't mind to do something like that eventually, but I could do with getting the hang of something really basic first. :P

I guess this regulator would only supply enough DC power for low powered items, I guess you'd struggle with with say some extra lights and a music player too? Haha...

Can some explain to me in laymans terms what the wiring would involve for just a cigarette lighter and battery to be hooked up?

Cheers,

My mate runs one for a digital egt. It does the job but on tickover the egt reading alomst disappears. If you wanted perfection run a battery in the circuit as well but yes they do work.

Cheers for the reply. How did you wire the cigarette lighter up?
