Did you have a bad experience with the floor sweeping ones? Sintered bushes like these should be soaked in oil prior to fitting. Last a life time. That is until it dies.

as warts says sintered bushes should be soaked in oil prior to use. in other aplications the phosphor bronze is sintered together (heated until the grains of metal stick to each other leaving gaps our porousity ) they are usualy pre formed rather than machined as machining smears the surfaces trapping in the lube our preventing the lube getting in. they are then placed in a vacuume and the lube oil is sucked into the porous bronze. the ones with the oilways machined into the bronze should be fine . cheers simon
