They are both Taffspeed designs just made by different manufacturers, dodobeckam wrote:any one done a comparisment?
The JL3 as supplied today has a longer front section & fully welded (Usually smashed into sleeping police men or curbs) the rivits in the muffler also known to come loose!
Taffspeed Mk4 seperate U pipe (2 lengths) alloy muffler bolted on (this cured most of the JL3 issues back in 1996)
Both systems have their peak power lower down the rev range compared to other exhaust systems available, 6250-6500 rpm have a good spread of torque & can pull SX200 gearing from as low as 45mph in top gear upto 70-75mph.
All depends on what engine set up you are fitting them to? Cast iron or TS1 style cylinders!
There are some power graphs available if you look on the site.
Best regards

ahh ok,,i`m running ts1,mikuni and standard gp200 gearing..the reason I`m asking this Ian is i`ve got the option of both and not sure which one the taff pipe or the franspeed 3 (jl) when my mate had your pipe on it went like **** off a shovel and has got a fantastic sound to it where as the franspeed is in a newer condition.
