Aritey,
Talkin to my bro in law last week & he's got me thinking.
My Rally engine has a small springy plate on the flywheel side casing that sits behind the quadrant.
My bro in law says this is to hold the kickstart pinion in place and was later replaced by a proper spring in later models.
Anyone know if this is true?
Cheers.

your BIL is correct the later rally which was an early p2 used a spring - when the flywheel side casing/bearing set up changed and the ducati electronic set up arrived.
