Hi folks.
I want to put an ignition switch in place of the push button cut out on my S3.
My question is are they easy to wire in. There are a few on ebay but i don't know which sort to go for or how to connect it in.
I've got the original bulb holder and a good quaility handlebar switch which was a doddle to sort out.
Can anyone help with wiring one up, i'm not sure if they even come with colour coded wires.
Thanks.

Simple enough if you only want it to turn off the engine as only one wire is involved. However, even thoght the switches are colour coded the colours used are inconsistent and can't be relied on. Also, a lot of the switches on ebay, espeially the cheap ones are made of cheap materials and will short the ignition out. The ones availabel from ScootRs are fine as are the slightly more expensive ones from MB Developements. The Casa ones are said to be good but are very expensive by comparison.muffster wrote:Hi folks.

I've gone over to using the Honda ones as sold by ScootRS. I managed to pick up another second hand from Ebay which fitted straight into my Li headset. I presume the Indian "KAC" ones are called that for a reason?......
Muffster, put your location in your profile, then you might find someone locally may offer to help
If you get stuck I've mapped the connections for both types of ScootRS type switches and can forward them

I want a decent switch to replace the cut out and for some security.

Many thanks.

Are any of the above switches a direct replacement for the kill switch or does the aperture require opening up to fit the switch through?

I had to file my spanish headset slightly to change the orig kill switch still fitted to the casa one I had...not much and didnt affect the look/paint once the ring was screwed on.soulsurfer wrote:Are any of the above switches a direct replacement for the kill switch or does the aperture require opening up to fit the switch through?

Mike, the F004 on Corrado's site is supposed to be a direct replacement, although they've been out of stock for a while and I managed to get one on ebay (albeit a tad gnarled as the guy tried to install it with Stilsons.soulsurfer wrote:Are any of the above switches a direct replacement for the kill switch or does the aperture require opening up to fit the switch through?

No filing involved here

I took a couple of photos as I've got the headset off to fit a SIP speedo.
