^... I watch with interest, however, your response almost seems to play down the performance gain to be had by your clubman, along with other clubman pipes that continue to rev considerably further/higher than the standard AF type clubman or SIL big-bore. Whilst the RM clubman, RS clubman, Gori, revvy Tino Ancillotti, etc will not make the torque of a suitable expansion they do allow for such a pipe to marry to a revvier kit, whereas the standard type clubman will simply strangle a revvy motor to death! The low rev ceiling of the standard clubman on a revvy kit results in the worst of both worlds; the kit doesn't make power at low revs and the clubman will not allow it to reach the revs where the kit wants to make power further up the range. Motors like this are horrible to use
At least a revvy clubman will allow the motor to continue to use the higher rev range of a revvy kit (if not make much torque). I like the way that you are looking to produce a clubman that would cater for the higher revving market and one that makes as much torque as possible, without strangling revs too much. I used to have a straight through 48mm VW clubman that performed very well on a TS1225 but the noise was DAFT! I'll be interested to see what you come up with as I think that there is a good market for such a product.
