polini or malossi
can anyone tell me will i have any probz running a t5 malossi head on a T5 polini kit.

The Malossi head has a 66mm diameter combustion chamber. The Polini is 61mm bore. The combustion chamber will overhang the Polini gasket face. Combustion will force the head away from the cylinder and the reduced gasket seal area will not last long before leaking, or stripping a stud.

It's not going to be good but I don't think it's going to be as serious as your man would have you believe.
If the lip on the head is wider than the bore then you're going to interrupt the flame front (all to do with flow etc,) but all I think you'll end up with is a loss of power and a bit of pinking, nothing more.
Just retard your timing and don't be disappointed when it's not as fast as you thought it was going to be.
Better to get a head matched to the barrel though.

a malossi 172 head done
and ive got a MRB head needing done its about a 170cc
