external pick up on lml engine

does anyone here have any experience of this setup,mainly regarding the coil/ cdi set up as they use separate units. a coil i have but there seems to be a few cdi ,s out there and i do not know which is the right one.the easy(and dearer ) option would be to swap for piaggio/ ducati fly/stator but i would like the higher power 96w of the lml and have heard some have built in retard, not sure if true. cheers in advance.

so what do you want to know? you can use the ducati style cdi w/ the lml stator. the lml cdi has 2 or 3 degrees of retard built in, hardly anything spectacular, but there non the less. beedseed do the lml cdi and as you have the coil, i say go for it.

i thought the lml will burn out ducati cdi,s as the stator has a lower resistance low tension coil, reading 375 ohm compared to ducati 450-500. the problem i have is not knowing which of various lml cdi,s goes with the set up i have. the options seem to be, 1, red box with a plug connection
2, grey box with spade connection
3, black box in a ducati style

i run a ducati cdi on my lml engine, no problem.
this is the lml cdi i'm most familiar with,

this is the style, that in stock trim, uses the auto retard. i don't know if the red one does or not, but otherwise, i think you should consider them interchangeable.
i don't know anything about the grey one, you don't mean the coil do you?
