After my engine rebuild, my kickstart is clicking as I push it forward and also mechanically locks up when I try to wheel it backwards when in gear, but is fine in neutral?
Its a GP 200 and when I have moved the kickstart around on the splines it doesnt sit right?
Any solutions to this problem please?

a new clutch bell was fitted but I did grind the kickstart shaft to stop it catching the top clutch plate.

The crownwheel could be too near the endplate or studs causing the chain rivets to catch?

Cheers Will check that tomoro! A mate reckons the kickstart has not been turned/tensioned enough or kickstart shaft piston stud is fouling as not in the correct position.
Thanx again.

Think ive sussed it? Kickstart ramp on GP End plate is worn so allowing the kickstart piston to insert further than usual. Didnt look too worn on first inspection but on further inspection was about 1mm deeper than should be. I Will buy one at wicksteed tomorrow if it does the same the strip will commence! Cheers

you could cut the ramp off the GP end plate so that its the same as an LI/SX,then buy a ramp for your sidecasing .That way you keep the (I presume) matched endplate to the casing, saves titting about having to re-shim it etc and you've got a adjustable kickstart :D have a look at this http://scooterotica.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14694

On further inspection it looks like the end plate ramp is worn(indian). Bought a new italian endplate at wicksteed the weekend so will fit that when time allows, but cheers for assistance!
