I've 5 plate clutch and getting a bit of drag in 1st so was going to replace the crown wheel with one that's machined for the clutch plate, what's the advantage or disadvantage of fitting a lightened one and will it make any difference to current set up ony I fitted an Imola last winter and fairly happy the way it's running and don't want to screw it up.

I thought if the crown wheel is machined for the lugs on the clutch it gives it more room for the clutch to release.

ok sorry the questions I was asking is I'm changing the crown wheel for one that's machined for the lugs on the clutch should I fit a normal one that's machined or a lightened one that's machined and what difference will the lightened one make on current set up if any.

Cheers

lighter is better ...but both should be better regarding the cluch action

as far as lighted goes its a good idea ...but point less i would say if the engine is otherwise standard
