Lots of talk on here recently regarding the pro`s and con`s of Viton oilseals, after holing a piston due to base gasket disintegrating,I`m in the process of re-building, I`ve got Viton seals in at the moment, but do I replace with viton or normal type Rolfe seals. I put the viton ones in at the same time as I put in the crap base gasket in .

Viton seals were advertised a a cure for the problems of ethanol damage but unfortunately Viton is NOT resistant to ethanol as you will find if you check it out in the web

Should be resistant to ethanol as the viton tipped (red) delly float valves are for ethanol resistance.

Using no ethanol gave good results, using pure ethanol gave good results. Seems to be the mixture of the 2 thats not good.
