Running indicators on 6volt non - battery

I'm in the process of building up a daily rider bitsa. Nothing too mental just a GP150 spec engine running on a 6 volt non battery stator with a Vespa regulator to boost the lights to 12 volt. Would really like to run a set of indicators and was wondering if it was possible? I remember my old Vespa P150x running indicators no probs and that ran a non - battery points stator. Any ideas on loom, switches etc? cheers Paul

IMO. you'd be wasting your time, especially with a standard 6v stator. I know SIL made a GP150 with indicators, but even with the special indicator switch it wasn't much good.
You would be better off adding a 5 pin reg/rec to charge a small battery and add an LED based indicator system.

Hmmm interesting, yeah was looking at fitting the indicators and back light with LED's, any ideas what would be a suitable loom for this arrangement? not much cop with making looms etc- would rather something ready to go. Cheers Paul

easy enough to wire up, I use the LED relays from ebay, no matter what mmix of leds or bulbs you fit, they are electronic so flash at the right rate

2 pin, so fused feed from ignition to relay, relay out to switch, then left and right indicators down to earth

well thats how I do the bikes, how different can it be LOL

a really simple solution could be a small 12v battery and just charge it every couple of weeks, just for LED indicators, it will run forever
