On some late Indian GP's and J ranges there were SX shape headsets fitted. Were these the same thickness in casting as Italian ones or beefed up? Did they have indicator switches? Did the headlight rim only fit these headsets?
I want a pair of these bars to fit onto a GP if anyone can advise who/where to get them from?

I'm not sure you can. I've got pictures of one somewhere, so I'm sure you're not hallucinating. But, to the best of my knowledge they don't make them. You might be better off getting one of the cast repros for the SX and taking it from there.

SR sell the upper headset, might be worth a call, otherwise, as already said, a repro SX or maybe a Spanish type might be your better option.

Thought maybe these one for GP frames might be a different height from base to suit the GP. Would a non chrome ring Serveta headset fit with no gap?

I'd love to know the story behind those headsets. What did they do, drag out some old moulds they had left from the clear out of Innocenti and think it would be a good idea? Seems a bit bizarre. I suppose they could have been trying to sell it as some sort of new model.

I know nothing about the headset in question, but would say to avoid the SIL ones, I just bought an SIL GP one, luckily it was dirt cheap, and I will play with it to get it right eventually, but to be honest the fit together is rather lacking!!.

heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it does fail, hit them with it!!!

It's quite common to use the SX headset on a GP in the BSSO, it gives a slight drop in bar height without breaking your back with the aftermarket bunny's ears available
