Hi all, I have a 210 reed vale motor that I just built.

It starts first time and will rev out when not under load. As soon as I ride down the road and open the throttle it will pull a few hundred rpm then it bogs down like the fuel has run out. It never stalls it keeps ticking over. The timing is std at the moment and I am running a 28mm PHBH FD dellorto that has been rejetted to suit the following spec.

Ported cases inc reedvalve. Race crank, Mollossi 210, lightened flywheel, Taffy exhaust.

Jetting is: 140 main jet - X3 Needle - 268 atomiser - 55 idle jet.

any suggestions? :fb:

Sounds way too rich....... X3 needle and 268 atomiser on a 28mm? Someone else may correct me but I would've thought an X2 and a 264 would be better. Think you may need to come down on the main one or two sizes too.

In fact just remembered this from a while back............

30phbh Dellorto 210 Reedvalve:
Main jet 130-135
Needle x2
Atomiser Av264
Slide 40
pilot 50-60

If it's over rich it will start to pick up just as the fuel level drops in the float bowl; this could point you in the direction of it being over-jetted; probably best to run it to the point it misfires and keep it at that throttle opening turn fuel off and then it should clear and accelerate as the fuel level drops and the mix weakens; but don't keep going as it won't do the motor any good if you run out of fuel cometely,

You are more likely to need a fuel pump as the carb is sat higher than standard and the fuel flow will not keep up with demand.SIP do a fast flow tap and Beedspeed sell vacuum pumps which you can get the vacuum feed from the reed block to save splitting the motor to fit the union. Also agree your jetting is way too rich, try Diablo's settings .

Found the problem!!

The very nice man on eBay who sold me the carb listed it as a NSR125 2T carb and it was actually a 4T carb.
Swapped the body with a 30mm I had and it now works fine.

Thanks for everyones help

Cheers ;D
