I ve just fitted a new speedo cable to my special, trouble is I cant get it to work properly. When I turn the inner by hand the needle "flicks" so I presume its ok at the top end. But when its all connected and taken for a spin, nothing. I ve tried shortening the outer by 5 mm as per Stickys book but no joy. Is it a case of another 5 mm off and trial and error? Any tips much appreciated as its doing my head in and I dont want to end up with a too short cable !
