Playing with an LI150 S3 with a 175 iron kit still running points @19 degrees and a 20ml carb.
Starts great from cold and runs through the air-box.
Going to be trying to sort it out latter today.
What I get is its runs great until it warms up at that point it just dies and is hard to start.
If you flutter the throttle and are lucky you can keep her running and limp back, however if you open the throttle
it just sounds like its been switched off. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaa sort of noise.
Normally when the engine is under load like going up a hill.
Now I'm going to be checking the timing and check the stator look for air leaks.
Any of you wise men have any other ideas I should look into?
Thanks.
Dies when hot

ok Im a total newbie to scoots, no idea if Im talking tosh BUT...
whats the manifold from the barrel to the head made from??
this problem was common on my old brit iron with alloy manifold and polished carb etc, carb was heating up as the engine got warm, the fuel vapourising or changing structure, and it just leans out giving the same symptoms you describe, fitting some isolator spacers with gaskets etc nearly always solved it, obviously this isnt the problem if youve got a rubber manifold

heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it does fail, hit them with it!!!

older SH dellorto carbs had a nasty habit of the atomiser unscrewing giving these symptoms. Engine will idle but flood when throttle opened...happened to me...hope this helps.
