Sliding Dog Quality

have 2 sliding dogs here from ebay. cheap stuff, can´t remember. indian, light grey surface with "M" stamped on round end.
as i haven´t got any others to compare them, - does anyone know these ?
mate said these types don´t select gears properly and i should bin them..

Your mate is right. Bin them and get a genuine SIL one from scooterestorations, it's not worth wrecking your gearbox for the sake of £30
