Does anyone know an easy way to get rid of the slop in the handlebar control rods? Does anyone make the plastic bits in the outside end of the handlebars in alloy or metal? Anyone converted the older type splined rods? (which I have).
Thanks.

i,ve always prefered to weld rods into bars..................its the ONLY way to eliminate that slop..........and to ensure that it never occurs............again.
italian splinned rods and brass pulleys are best of course............
with indian set up............the pin through the plastic pulley will still be a prob......sooner or later............

I bought this one and the throttle one
http://scootrs.com/moreinfo.cfm?Product_ID=25
and made some new stainless control rods, drilled the rods to suit the scootrs parts and thru bolted them, no play at that end. As for the other end,I remade the plastic parts in stainless and fitted roll pins.
A plan for the future is to loose the roll pins and tap threads into the stainless parts and fit the right lenght grub screws.
