A mate is having a bit of trouble with his P2 cutting out when slowing down,it will restart again if bumped back into gear, it's a bog standard motor albeit with a simonini, we've had the carb apart and cleaned, he's going to pull the green wire to ignition to eliminate wiring issues.
He has had the tank out recently so there may be a link to this? Some have mentioned a seal gone but I'd have thought that there would be other issues -which there aren't.

Any ideas...

blocked pilot jet? had one last month where the guy was tearing his hair out, carb apart ten times etc. pulled his pilot jet out, and stuck a bristle from and old toothbrush up the pilot jet and a minute piece of burgundy paint (burgundy mk1 p200) came out on the bristle. popped back in, back to normal. try the easy stuff first.

I'd whip the tank out and check that the fuel line isn't kinked or pinched between the tank and the frame. It's a common problem if the fuel line isn't seated/located properly when the tank is put back in.

Sounds feasible as the tanks been out but why would it only be when coming to a stop?

Nah lads, he's a 'seasoned' scooterists and knows about those kinds of schoolboy errors, I did check that just in case but all is well.

Had the carb out the other week and blew through all the jets - admittedly only with wd40 as I have no easy access to an airline.

Thanks for the pointers so far..

I'm not sure, i've not heard contrary, I had a go on it the other night and couldn't replicate the problem, we also pulled the green ignition wire to cdi to see if that helped..

I will ask and find out.
