a mate wants to fit a PM up and over pipe to his PX, but retain [at least some of] the panel.
any pics of such a setup would be handy before we begin
need to lose a little from the end of the frame to clear the header pipe too ?

IMO ,and having done a few similar vespas with up and over pipes...theres just no way you could keep the panels unless your prepared to have the ex sticking out across the flywheel...but good luck with that...

thats really nice looking ,but any expansion chamber /ex that youd really like to work will never fit underneath those panels lol

thanks.
so not a five minute job...
I'll show him the Rothmans pic, I think that's the kind of thing he had in mind
It does look good, performance may be sacrificed for looks...

I seem to remember that the Rothmans racer did have a proper expansion exhaust, after all this was PM Tunings demo scooter. If someone can find a head on shot photo of this scooter you will see that the side panel was really wide where that mesh is.

I have seen that article now. Issue #9! July '86!
It does stick out a fair bit
It's the look that is wanted.

I done one like this on my mambo in 95 MSC built it for me ,mesh panel the ect ran it with a 210kit reedvalve 30mil dello, but it must be something to do with the down pipe cause the performance was shite with the up and over compaired to standard micron as i had them make me both the mesh panel & exhaust plus normal lefthand side & standard panel..

Plus if i remember correctly it's a nightmare to set it up as getting into the carb with the exhaust toasting hot means burnt hands, well it does if your daft as f@@k like me..
