"Topp Racing" Cranks

Anyone heard of or fitted one of these cranks to a lambretta! If so i would appreciate any comments feedback etc.

Been offered one at what seems to be a reasonable price and the crank looks to be of good /high quality. Its a full circle 58mm and is balanced with what looks to be brass plugs (may be other metal).

I have never heard of them being fitted to lambrettas before, but I have limited knowledge in this area. Any input would be appreciated, before i waste any more money and time on something which may be of no use whatsoever.

If i were you i'd buy the Meceur race crank, these are excellent value for money at £100-110 and as good as other race cranks that cost twice as much.

However this is the crank i.m looking to change from. Not sure wether i have a duff one but think it is twisted and it has been retrued and balanced a couple of times!

its got black webs and the conrod is marked MEC so is this a mecure crank?????

PM tuning sell Topp Racing cranks but none of them fit Lambretta engines.

what is causing the crank to run out of true?
how has it been "rebalanced"?

just asking because mec cranks are exceptional value for money and have a very good interference on the pin so should not fall out of true unless something is/was very wrong

The Top Racing NG Evolution Cranks offered by some british dealers look suspiciously like the BGM Cranks which were advertised by Scooter Center Cologne and MB a few years ago but pulled from the market very soon. I heard some rumours concerning trueness problems...

Sorry Mick my comment was a bit misleading should have probably written it "has been re-trued to improve balance" As nothing has been done to alter the balance! However when "trueing" last time have only been able to get it to the maximum recomended tolerance. So thinking it may be time for a new one?

I think it was caused initially by a couple of minor heat seizes and then one good seize! All bearings seem to be good and are decent quality, all seals replaced etc

The only other thing Paul is have it split and possibly welded.
