Clutch grabbing

A while ago I replaced my plates on a standard setup using surflex b plates, I also fitted MB uprated springs.

All seems fine except every now and again withe the clutch in sat in gear, it feels like it grabs every now and again, more obvious if revved slightly, I have tried to adjust it out but cant seem to get it just right.
I never noticed it before the plate change and other than the grabbing it performs as it should.

One mate suggested that maybe the steel plates are slightly dished and should all be reassembled the same way- is this correct?

If not..any other ideas?

If it does it when the motor is hot I would say the plates are swelling and causing clearance issues.The trouble with clutches is there are numerous things that can cause probs.One thing I try to avoid is sitting at a stop with the clutch in to avoid overheating the plates.A crownwheel with the extra clearance for a 5th plate may help and check the pressure plate is not warped.

As above Dazza..but I fettle the plates to ensure no grab.last year I fitted new plates with MB springs with dogleg lever and fettled plates and (touch wood) its been top dollar TBH..always engage 0 at lights and stops though or the plates go all gooey.. ;)

I go in and smooth off the fingers and basket and the pressure plate. I have also noticed on several that there is only one or two ways of mating up the pressure plate to the fingers that will give complete free movement without the plates installed. Find those spots, if neccessary, then mark the pressure plate and fingers so they go back together with the plates in in the same orientation. Also go in and groove out the corks. Check freeplay with clutch compressed. Building a good clutch can take a while, but at least you don't have to go back in again.
That's not going anywhere...
