I've just been working on some S2 forks but realised the stem is bent. Has anyone successfully straightend the stem in a vice with or without heat?

No, but I have abused one with a sledge hammer and got it to turn without binding in the races when tightened.
That's not going anywhere...

I've tried that way :D

Taking or send the forks anywhere isn't a option for me as I'm in the US. I'm going to have a serious go at them at work tomorrow and get some heat on the joint.

If you're int he states you should see if Casa USA in Denver can check your folks alignment. Their site only mentions their frame jig, but it's worth a shot.

They may he able to straighten stems but their jig won't pick up on misaligned fork boots. Not being funny but I'd want my forks to be fully checked if going on a jig :-?
