Fork Bending

I've just been working on some S2 forks but realised the stem is bent. Has anyone successfully straightend the stem in a vice with or without heat?

hi several years ago i bought a scoot in bits and not wanting to build it to take apart again i took forks to grand prix in leicester they have a jig to test and straighten forks hope this of some help

No, but I have abused one with a sledge hammer and got it to turn without binding in the races when tightened.

havnt heard much about him for a while ,but it maybe worth your while trying to contact him cos he was very good apparantly at fork bending.

I've tried that way

Taking or send the forks anywhere isn't a option for me as I'm in the US. I'm going to have a serious go at them at work tomorrow and get some heat on the joint.

If you're int he states you should see if Casa USA in Denver can check your folks alignment. Their site only mentions their frame jig, but it's worth a shot.

They may he able to straighten stems but their jig won't pick up on misaligned fork boots. Not being funny but I'd want my forks to be fully checked if going on a jig
