i have been helping a mate with his lammy, mugello 220 , with variotronic, we now have it running ok and so turned our attention to the lighting with our trusty voltmeter at hand.
variotronic was wired as per instructions and on checking voltage at head set we are getting 24v on tickover rising to 36v when increasing the revs, on some cables, we did not have time to mess about and will investigate further during the week,
has anyone seen this before???, its on an Li150 with cut out switch, engine sparks fine , cut out works ok
36 volt lambretta!!!
that's what i thought, but it is all new, any one else had a faulty variotronic regulator? which would be the best way to check,? i have a good voltmeter and some regulators from other lammys.....
started on ac , 36v , then he changed to dc on meter to just see what happened and got the same reading?

What terminals are you taking the measurement from...
Could be a problem with the earth that you are measuring across.... Try sticking the black probe from the meter onto the engine casing....

was using the headset bare metal as earth, thought this would be decent enough.
If it's wired correctly, then either the reg is no good or the earth connection on it is poor.
thanks firekdp, i was hoping you'd see this,
