Hi all,
I'm making up a slip joint for my Ancillotti box pipe, I have the joint all made up but I just need a little advice on how much load there should be on the springs? ie; from a static position, how much should they expand when fitted. Bike shop suggested about 3mm either side.

cheers
How come phonetics isn't spelt with an 'f'?

Only just put on a new Franspeed, and the springs are easily over 10mm extended to fit onto the retaining loops. Having said that, I would think that as long as the spring is constantly under tension when fitted you should not have any problems with the joint.
