How do I get a horn that doesnt sound like a dying duck?
I have a 12 volt AC system on my GP with Varitronic (90 watt).
I have tried a Stebel Magnum TM 80/1 which is 5.5 amp but that doesnt work.
Can I use a capacitor/relay/charge pump to help store energy for release?

You really need 12v DC from a battery.
Turn On, Tune In, Cop out!

doesn't the varitronic rectifier unit also put out some DC current ??
if so, run a wire from that to a 12v DC horn...
you can still use the handlebar switch to earth it.

Anyone tried the Stebel Nautilus Compact on a series 3(12v elec.)?

A 6v a/c horn on 12v a/c always sounds pretty horny to me. Not like you have your finger on the horn button long, so chances of burning it out are low.
That's not going anywhere...
