Can anyone tell me the depth and width of the main stubby bolt please and if the imola differs which i cant think it does.
engine cowl cover bolt
is the imola cyl head the same as normal when it comes to the stubby bolt attaching the cover to the cyl? I just changed to the jl3 and for some odd reason the bolt i thought it was doesnt fit, its too thin. I cannot see due to the shape of the exhaust, even with a mirror - it may have got mixed up with others which i know are longer - have tried all except one which i know it isnt and that seems too fat but feels like its biting. I am loathed to take all off to see.

M8 x 16mm, it fits the elongated nut on one of the cylinder studs so it doesn't matter which engine or kit you use as they all use the same cylinder studs.druist wrote:is the imola cyl head the same as normal when it comes to the stubby bolt attaching the cover to the cyl? barrel studs are m8 (13mm spanner)so the long nut and bolt are also m8 same as exhaust studs. It may be the exhaust stub pushing the cowl out of position.druist wrote:

I am partial to the 14mm nuts myself. More threads available to bite on, better spread of the torque. As someone else said in a different thread, discussion availble on this? Of course , it's the washers that apply the load...but?carlos fandango wrote:barrel studs are m8 (13mm spanner)so the long nut and bolt are also m8 same as exhaust studs.
