LI steel fork spring top hats - is there a bush, too?

Probably a dumb question, but:

I'm just about to rebuild my forks (early LI series 3). I have steel top hats, but can't remember if there is meant to be a bushin the top hat. Or does the spring just go straight in?

Thanks,

Dan

Don't know quite what you mean by 'stopper' The steel top hats have a 'plastic' bush that the rod passes through.

Thanks Shocky - yes, mine are the original steel versions of these. What I wasn't sure about was whether there was also meant to be a plastic bush within the steel stopper, as this doesn't seem to be clear.

Daggs' post indicates that there is also meant to be a bush - but I've just found a diagram that shows that there isn't...?

Hmmmmm, just had a closer look at mine, and pulled out the remnants of an internal plastic bush that fits into the steel top hat. Double-checked 'Sticky's' and it confirms that series 2 and early series 3 were like this.

Don't think I've seen these bushes before - can i just upgrade to the GP type nylon ones, and leave out the top hats?

My ser. 1 steel tophats have a nylon like bush in them. But you can just upgrade to the new style. Don't know where you'd ever get a new bush at!
