Certainly did. However I reckon they are definitely good for an ultra reliable relaxed touring 18bhp with a 30mm carb and box pipe, and thats brrrrrrilliant! Mucho cooling area as well.

PS I still say a 39mm carb and box pipe are not a marriage made in heaven. Go on Soosh tell me they go together "like peas and carrots" (Forest Gump 1994).

I fitted one of the Avanti kits today and was impressed with the fitting especially the ease of setting the squish.Innocenti casing,Ron advised the 1mm base gasket then measure the piston edge to top of cylinder which was 3.33mm minus 2mm head spigot=1.33mm clearance .Nice. I removed some of the casting flash in the ports and polished the exhaust port and hardly had to match the CDC inlet manifold. I thought the ring gap was a little tight at just under 0.20mm so opened them up to 0.25 although they may have been ok.One hole in the top of the head cowl needed opening up for the two M5 screws to fit without tension on the cowl but other than that it was a pleasure to do for a change.I then fitted a 20 t front sprocket but had to cut about 25mm off the lower tensioner which I believe Ron recommends leaving out but I like to use.All in all took nearly all day,talking included , but was a lot easier than other kits that need more fettling so it's now down to the owner to fit and modify his JL3 and get it run in although we're gonna get it on a dyno soon.

Thanks for the feedback Wack 63, why does the JL3 have to be modified?

My cylinder was ground to make way for the hex heads on the JL mounting bracket.See the vertical fins.
Also the hex heads were turned to roughly half their thickness
