? but the stub on the imola is round and the mugello is standard oval so youre not comparing like for like there

It isn't?

Imola186/TS1225 etc use the short black/round stub.

Cast Iron, Mugello, Rapido, Avanti etc use the other stub.

thats the normal stub for the muggy kit

my 200 kit was latest version, and uses that shape exhaust port fitting etc

are you confusing muggy and imola?
heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it does fail, hit them with it!!!

Simon,
Imola/TS1/Monza use a round exhaust port/flange.
Mugello/standard/rapido/RT all use a oval exhaust port/flange.
Question is why do the makers of the exhaust make the 2 different flanges in 2 different lengths?
What you need is an oval flange that is as short as the round flange, if that makes sense.

I'm thinking that getting the manifold cut'n'shut will be the easiest fix.

I've not got one to hand but wondering if you can trim a couple of mm off the stub and off the exhaust pipe to see if it's moving in the right direction?

Il have stub back tomorrow il post pic and see how it goes from there . If no good looks like andy Francis is next stop
