Simplex,
For the moment put an X7 needle in on the 2nd notch, air screw 1.5 - 2 turns out, if you cannot get it to tick over within 10 mins you may have an ignition issue. Give me a call.

I would usually read through a thread for a possible answer, but come on many pages now...
So can I ask is anyone running this kit with a ScootRs exhaust?
As anyone had one a dyno?
If yes what's the performance like??

The ScootRs exhaust is quite revy so I wouldn'r have thought it would suit the Avanti. It wouyld be better to sell it and buy a JL3 or similar.

Well close..Im running a PM25, when Dan fitted and set mine up, by far the Franspeed race came out on top.

Bearing in mind, that this kit is straight out of the box, no porting/tuning to cylinder or casings, simply bolted on and run up on the dyno (on a rich setting) that 22bhp @ 6000rpm and 17ft-lbs torque @ 6400rpm is pretty impressive. There are not many kits that will do that straight out of the box, and if they do.....they are not piston port, are usually producing the power much higher up the rev range, and usually cost a lot more! lol

Andy, Coaster.
Thanks for the reply, I have a JL3 race on now (I think..thanks John).
I will start a new thread with my issue, this isn't the right thread to post it.

Andy,
I have no problem with the kit, like you I'm very impressed with it.
My issue was the rear mounting bracket on the JL3 exhaust,

Post your problem with the bracket in another thread mate loads running them, could it be the issue when it's tight to the barrel? That's why the franspeed avantI race was designed..

Changed needle to x7... better but still a tad rich.. The slip joint on the Pipe by the kick start is chucking oil out.. At 200 miles do I put up with this for a while then start weakening off after fully run in?. anyone used one of the rubber covers on the joint?

dont down jet,
make sure your ignition is in tip top condition.
sounds mad but try the x13 2- 2.5 from top with a 62-65 pilot.
people have mistaken rich for weak at 45 pilot you will hole a piston on a run.
