done a round trip of over 630 miles to heerjansdam and back.... scooter ran really well....never missed a beat... absolutely flying... keeping up with the big autos in our club..sitting between 70 and 75 on one stretch of motorway between fill ups(the fast lane doesn't lie) on the whole rarely below 65 and thats because i was moaning about the petrol i was going through compared to them.
That would be the only compaint i had, was that it was a bit thirsty, at no point on the motorway did i have it fully open and i did have it jetted rich in the mid range
if it hadn't loosened off completely before the holland trip it has now :D

I managed to go over the 1000 mile running in period on the way back from Belgium but due to a leaking exhaust didn't feel inclined to open it up beyonf 45mph. I finally got round to fixing the leak at the weekend and rode it down to the Felixstowe coaster's bash on Saturday which was about 50 miles, 30 of them dual carriageway. It was quite windy again but I had not trouble holding 60 mph uphill into the wind 8-) The CHT was stable at 175 degrees even on the stretches where I took it up to 65 mph overtaking. It was only ever on part throttle (apart from the uphill into the wind bit) and would have gone a LOT faster but as I haven't done any plug chops at WOT I didn't want to chance it. I was also aware that it is still running a BE7 or BE8 plug so probably not suited to thrashing :?

Also, having chatted to Ron and looked at Adam's installation I decided to have a go at fitting my Breathing Sweet filter. My problem was that Camlam sold me an elbow that was too big for the PHBH and I could never get it to stay on. Adam's use of plumbing fittings gave me a clue though and I used a 1/2" section of plastic pipe whyich was a tight fit in the hose but a loose fit on the carb. I wrapped some PTFE tape round the thread on the carb and glued the plastic pipe on using plastic metal. When it had gone off I was able to unscrew the pipe from the carb and peel off the PTFE tape and screw it back on and attach the hose. The panel (jet 200) was a bit of a job to get on but it survived the 100 mile round trip ok.

Right then chaps time for an update....
480 miles on the Avanti now so really closing in now ...
Cleethorpes, very very windy from all directions mainly over the humber bridge riding almost on my side to keep it upright :D and the Avanti performed well very well infact but did need 3rd gear change downs at various times to keep up the revs but like I say it was very windy..
All in all I seem to be experiencing much the same performance as everyone else in which it seems very much at home over 60mph then tottering around town or in traffic at lower speeds which all in all is what Ron designed it for so another thumbs up there then, I still feel (imo of course) the add on of a reedvalve would turn this kit into both a tourer and work commuter if like me you are using it for both as Ive found using it for work not really fit for purpose but again Ron designed it for touring :D, with me closing in on the magic number it is without a doubt running very rich as Dan intended for running in purposes, This will be rectified when Dan can fit me in and of course when I can fit Dan in :D what with so much going on right now in the scooter world..My only really disappointment from Cleethorpes was the fact close to home on my return the clutch began to spin up at high revs.. ..I thought a new 5 plate clutch with barely running in miles on down the swanny.. :( A quick call to the ever reliable Martin (Corrado) and 6 new thin greens and 5 x steels winging there way to Hull..removal of the clutch unearthed the failure of springs..the annoying bit being both Sean and Dan had raised concerns over them but I didnt listen :( sorry guys me bad :D but its all back right again now :D

I didn't change the jetting, it's still on Ron's suggested 55 pilot, x7 AV 286 and 125 main.

had a conversation with ron moss this weekend, the new clubman style exhaust looks good, and with further improvements to be made to made so its a good fit following the contours of the lambretta engine case.
ron needs some feed back on how these kits are going and also your set ups, carb, exhaust, ignition, and dyno figures with jetting details of the carburettors for comparison and evaluations.

Well over 600 miles on mine and the weekend run to Lincoln and back was a breeze as it eat the miles with consummate ease, sitting between 60/70 mph @ 3/4 throttle was childs play tbh and it I had to keep raining it in as it wanted to go quicker...

Still got a lag between 1/4 and 1/2 throttle but Dan will rectify this at the end of the rally..on the whole im very very happy with the kit and it just seems to get better, the motorway didnt faze it at all and it seemed at home tbh and overtaking was done with ease with just a flick of the wrist.. :D

Has anyone tuned their kit or are you all fitting them as they come, what about dyno's what power are you getting
TS1 and PX stay in the garage (future barn finds) out on the GTS 300 when I go out on a scooter.
I know I’ll get there and back

Same as andy can open the throttle and feel it lagging then as I close it off a little it picks up. It feckin loves motorways although it loves a drink on the motorways. Still got to get a filter to work on it and if not reed valve it over the winter.
