Engine in from Huddersfield which will be 108..
And 109 is all mine all mine :bouncing: Thanks Ron, arrived safe and sound exactly when you said it would 8-)

Mine's going to replace my home grown Ally 225 reed valve set up so will be running with a 58mm stroke 110 rodded crank but it's not full circle so hopefully that won't make too much difference? I'll be using a 30 PHBH and JL3 and will probably stick to the 4.8:1 ration already fitted. Inlaws over for the entire weekend so can't get started :flaming:

500 + on kit 71. I went to Whitby from york, but went via Helmsley and Stokesly...very , very hilly !! I was following a TS1 225 (pretty standard set-up) and keeping up wasn't a problem. He knew i was still running in and kept a reasonable pace (55-60) when possible but the hills certainly kept the speed down. I 'm running an Indian GP 200 box with 20 T and 46 rear sprockets (giving a 4'6:1 ratio). i found 3rd gear could handle most of the hills and still accelerate but the 4th was a bit too much of a jump, although it did pull i dropped behind the TS1.

It's was a bit tricky knowing what gear to select on some of the hills as the natural instinct was to drop a gear, but winding the throttle back would also work. As it's not fully run in i didn't push it too much but maybe the 4th gear would have worked better if i'ld have tried more throttle ??

The stretch from Guisbrough to Whitby is fairly straight with more gentle hills and this is where the Avanti really shines. It followed the TS1 easily and was a real pleasure to ride with no issues what-so-ever.

I would emphasise again, that since i put this kit on i have not had to do anything to it, no carb adjustment, no bolts worked loose, no strange noises at certain rev's, nothing !!

The TS1 seemed to get more miles to the gallon, on filling up i was about half gallon more. This was after the hilly stretch. On the level it seemed as good as the TS!. Do you use more or less fuel when following some one ?? On average it 's getting somewhere between 40 - 50 to the gallon.

My only problem now is getting a bigger tank, as i'm sure the Avanti will just go and go, looking forward to more miles !!

Mick....you'll probably find that after running in you can drop to AV264 and 125 main (best done on a dyno) and this will give it another level of power even better than that you are currently happy with, and probably better mpg too.

Yes that's probably true....i bought the carb second hand and just fitted it with the jets it came with.. I tried fitting a foam filter (ram air) but it couldn't handle it so i'm going to down jet it too suit....might pop up to yours and get it all done in one go !!.....what you doing next saturday ??
