Well, so far this has all been very interesting and informative to the extent that I've spent even more money (boyesen reeds) on my 50 year old shopping bike. However, I still don't feel like I'm any better advised as to which of the 3 carbs is the better option!

I've been unable to track down an imola reed block /manifold.
Also, there are 2 versions; 48 and 52mm with 52 being the current version. I assume it's the early 48mm version that suits us?

All interesting stuff, my torquey tune TS1 225 is using an LTH short manifold with a 30 PHBH, anyone have any views on them? I'm fairly happy with my setup 58x110 crank, 2.5mm packer, Avanti head, Franspeerd Super Tourer. It does pull well albeit on 5.1 gearing (couldn't cope with 4.8) but maxes out at about 72mph (gps), won't rev much over 7.5k in 3rd
Could this be the manifold??
