this is similar to what has been done on my rapido sprinter 236cc, 72 bore and 58 stroke to allow higher revs. As for thirsty, not at all , i get 2 x 1/4 mile runs per litre of fuel :biggrin:Muppet wrote:Could you do this to a piston port rapido 250; cutting holes high up in the piston to feed the extra ports so not cutting the ports right back to the inlet; wouldn't this make it more peaky for sprinting and possibly quicker than with a reed fitted,

that equates to approx 5 miles per gallon thenfairspares wrote:this is similar to what has been done on my rapido sprinter 236cc, 72 bore and 58 stroke to allow higher revs. As for thirsty, not at all , i get 2 x 1/4 mile runs per litre of fuel :biggrin:Muppet wrote:Could you do this to a piston port rapido 250; cutting holes high up in the piston to feed the extra ports so not cutting the ports right back to the inlet; wouldn't this make it more peaky for sprinting and possibly quicker than with a reed fitted,

well we dyno,d this today and dan will post up the graphs/info etc as soon as he gets chance ..but I was pleased with the end results .
we also ended up having to use a 30mm delly PHBH carb simply because that was the only one that would fit using the MB reedblock ...we were gonna try an AMAL 34mm but even that fouled on the cylinder coweling .

its the angle thats the issue ..but no doubt a different rubber block could facilitate the use of other and larger carbs ...but the 30mm delly works just fine .

I would really like mine to be upgraded to stage 5 with an MBD reedvalve but maybe slightly smaller carb from 30mm dell to possible 26mm dell
Will santa bring me an MBD reedvalve

I have an MBD reed manifold on my Indian Ally barrel, if you turn the rubber up the other way you can get a PWK on. It has to sit at a slighty cocked angle and the petrol tap rod has to go between the choke and throttle cables but it works, you get an amazing downdraft and I am even able to get a Breathing Sweey filter on under S3 panels. I was using a 28/30 OKO pwk, not sure if the larger ones or even a Makuni would also fit.sean brady scooters wrote:we were gonna try an AMAL 34mm but even that fouled on the cylinder coweling .
