Never mind mate,s**t happens. Is there enough tap left to weld a nut to it? even if there is only a small stub left you can MIG a nut on and with plenty of lube gently ease it out-hopefully
....f... it fit a rear set brake bin leggies panels n cut back end off.....sorted.......
good luck sortin it out....'oh the joy of scootering'

Mig Welding a nut on to a broken tap will just brake off because taps are so brittle only thing you can do is replace pin with new or get a small piece off hack saw blade and go round the inside of cir-clip groove and try again with cir-clip i had same problem worked for me cir-clip stayed on
Lambrettas are for life!

Always a pleasure mate
I do not try to explain why I ride Lambrettas,
For those who understand, no explanation is necessary,
For those who don't, no explantion is possible.

I've also seen SS threaded (non-weld) brake pedal pivot pins. Cut off old pin and these simply tap in (locktiting threads). Can't for the life of me find the site I came across them on, but I remember thinking they looked like a cracking tidy fix. Perhaps someone else will know of them, if I manage to find I'll post link.

I got a small gasless mig in the summer second hand and can recommend them. With a bit of practice you can get a really good looking weld.Bilko wrote:Yes of course.
I'll call a friend with a wee mig. I'm going to have to get one. Been meaning to for years

Light years ahead of arc/stick welding which I found was always very hit and miss with blobs and splatter all over the place.
