I have done the same as Minority and I'm sure I used a Oil Level plug as fitted to the chaincase cover, hope that helps.

Yes it was just an ordinary nut that happened to fit over the axle and was about the right thickness. Unfortunately I have no idea what size it was, I just found one in my box of nuts and bolts that fitted.

Ahh I see what he's done now, can't see pics on works computer. I thought he had removed the speedo drive and blanked off the hole the brass piece and worm drive fit into. Sorry about that.

So, if I swap to mph it also displays F... Any way to keep C as temperature?

You have two choices as standard, MPH/F or KPH/C.
If you want MPH/C you will have to mess around with the tyre circumference to fudge it as you suggested.
In theory if you set to KPH/C and divide your tyre circumference by 1.6 (if that's within the allowed range) you should be about right.

I've not been through all of the responses on this thread but I was having problems with my SIP speedo freezing and not starting up properly etc.

It appears that you must run a resistor type spark plug if you are running a battery-less A/C system to make them work correctly. I switched from a B8ES to a BR8ES and it works perfectly now.
