Not sure, Ron has left strict instructions and I for one will stick to them :D , its really impressed me today tbh, you can feel the power even if you cant use it just yet, its like a caged lion....and I cant wait for the day its run in so I can really open it up and see what shes capable of, one of the nicest things is it doesnt have that tear your arms off TS1 does, more like a mature experienced milf who will go all night rather than a young buck who goes like feck but shoots his muck after 10 secs :? you can use that on your website Ron :D

Hi All, I am out of the country at the moment and the internet connection is a bit hit & miss so I thought I had better answer the question of the so called strict running in procedures.

It is all down to the bridged exhaust port.

I have taken various precautions to eliminate the threat of the bridge being distorted through the heat generated by the exhaust gases.

There are a large percentage of MotoX engines using bridged exhaust ports, they rev to around 14,000 rpm and have thin bridges which are also not the full depth of the port. These bridges have a dish (relieved) of around 2 thou or so ground by hand using a finger sand belt drive. If this is not done on these cylinders they bulge and crack.

I have had three cylinder done with this modification, all of which have been pissed, the rings running on one edge or the other, there is no continuity on quality and did more damage than good on our kit.

So what I have done is: the cylinder & head were heat treated before being machined to help stop any distortion, the bridge is wide and is the full depth of the exhaust port, adding strength and finally the piston has 2 oil lubricating holes which also aids cooling.

The running in procedure is to enable bedding in of the exhaust port bridge, a safety measure on my part and up until now there have been no reports of any issues and there should not be.

I have spent a lot of time designing this kit to bring out something different which the market has not seen before, so I would have thought a few extra careful miles to begin with would benefit in the long term.

hope this helps

I'd like to second that, very refreshing to get such a frank and open explanation 8-)

Enjoy your holiday Ron, sun or snow?
