The Lambretta SIP rims are the same width as standard split rims, available end of May... apparently.

A mate has just had some of these, and apparently had a sticker on them saying "For show and race use only"

I think the Germans have much more strict - and more expensive - rules on marketing new parts. It may just be to avoid the expense of "type approval" or whatever they call it.

Do you mean he has Vespa or Lambretta rims?

I think it says "Race Use Only" on most of there own stuff, the quality is superb but it does make you wonder how you stand on insurance :-?

They are vespa ones and yes they look excellent quality.
But that sounds to me passing the buck for any manufacturing or design faults.

Cant remember to be honest. they were black and alloy :oops: i think the outside part was alloy and the inner part black. :?
Well they were on a vespa!!!! :frog:

Sylvie at SIP emailed me today to say the rims are going to be at east another 2 weeks unfortunately.
The rims had to have a major redesign and they are still testing the prototype. Once they are happy they can start production.
Frustrating for everyone but nice to know they aren't being rushed out with unsolved problems.
